Lena M. Golden Lena M. Golden, of Liverpool, entered into rest on Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2018, at UPMC Harrisburg Hospital.
She was born in Hartford, Conn., a daughter of the late James Thomas Sr. and Lena M. (Sage) George. She was the wife of the late Edward Desrosiers Sr., Erwin Barney Sr., and Donald Golden.

Lena retired in 1991 from the Quilting Quarters, Sturbridge, Mass.
While living in Massachusetts she was very active in the community. She belonged to the Holland Council on Aging and it's activities committee, the Arts Lottery Council and the Bells Choir of St. Anne's Catholic Church. She belonged to St. Anne's Parish and served as chairman of Parish Life Council and chairman of the church bazaars. While living in Maine she was a volunteer for Hospice.

Lena was an active member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church, New Bloomfield and the Council of Catholic Women. She was also a member of the Liverpool American Legion Post No. 364 Ladies Auxiliary, the Newport Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 34, the Ladies Auxiliary, Women of the Moose Chapter No. 21, Millerstown, and the Hunter's Valley Sportsman's Association.
Lena enjoyed doing arts and crafts where she had a booth in Stitch and Time, Millerstown. She was always willing to help whenever needed.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Laurel M. and James Lindsay of Liverpool; a stepdaughter, Jean (Desrosiers) Olden of Enfield, Conn.; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husbands, Lena was preceded in death by five children, Edward J. Desrosiers Jr., Raymond T. Desrosiers, and Ronald J. Desrosiers, Audrey E. Barney in infancy, and Erwin I. Barney Jr.; one brother, James T. George Jr.; and one sister, Marion DeGray.

Friends and family are invited to the viewing from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug.14, at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, 811 Shermans Valley Road, New Bloomfield, Pa., where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10, with the Rev. Robert F. Sharman as celebrant.
Burial will be private in Mount Saint Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield, Conn.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in loving memory of Lena to her church.

The George P. Garman Funeral Homes Inc., 606 N. Front St., Liverpool have been entrusted with the arrangements.
