Leatha A. Sheaffer

Leatha A. Sheaffer, 80, of Mount Pleasant Mills, entered into rest on Friday, Jan. 11, 2019, in the Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.
She was born Oct. 4, 1938, in Port Trevorton, a daughter of the late Winebert W. and Beaulah (Phillips) Wendt. On Oct. 20, 1956, she married Glen A. Sheaffer who survives. The couple were married for 62 years at the time of her passing.

Leatha was a 1956 graduate of Middleburg Joint High School.
She retired after 22 years of service from the Selinsgrove Center as residential services aide.
She was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church and was a substitute pianist.
Leatha enjoyed playing cards, baking, and her fruit trees. She loved playing piano, accordion, banjo, guitar, and her games of chance. Leatha loved her family and she never lost her motherly instinct.

In addition to her husband, Leatha is survived by five children and their spouses, Brenda S. Sheaffer and her companion Daniel L. Williams, Bradley A. and Blairene Sheaffer, Brian W. Sheaffer, Shelly Sheaffer-Bittner and Mark, and Phillip L. and Tanja Sheaffer; 13 grandchildren, Jennifer Cobble, Randi Sheaffer, Cerissa Herman, Michael Ptacin, Joshua Sheaffer, Lara Johnston, Danielle Hale, Lacey Dupert, Jessie Mays, Matthew Sheaffer, Erica Sheaffer, Dale W. Sheaffer, Jr. and Anthony Sheaffer; 12 great-grandchildren; one sister and brother-in-law, Dolores and Donald Bickhart; one brother and sister-in-law, Henry and Sally Wendt, and a brother-in-law, John Troutman.
She was preceded in death by one son, Dale W. Sheaffer; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Mary Troutman and Elanore and Stoddard Lenig.

Friends and family are invited to the viewing from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, followed by the funeral at 11, at Emmanuel United Methodist Church, 9465 Route 35, Mount Pleasant Mills, with Pastor Deb Dailey and Pastor Bill Gibson officiating.
Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Mount Pleasant Mills.
