Larry A. Fessler, 81, of Pillow, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2017, at his home.
He was born July 29, 1936, in Pillow, a son of the late Elise I. and Joseph W. Dougal Sr.
Larry was employed as a machinist for Brubaker Tool, Millersburg.
He served first in the National Guard and later joined the Air Force.
Larry was the former Mayor of Pillow, a member of Salem Zion Church, Pillow, the Pillow Fire Company, the Hillsgrove Fire Company, the Dauphin County Firemen's Assoc., and the American Legion Post 504, Mandata.
Larry is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Douglas "Butch" and Cindy Fessler, of Dalmaita; one daughter, Lucretia "Sis" Michael, of Dalmatia; one brother, Joseph Dougal Jr.; one sister, Arlene Ward; four grandchildren, Mike Fessler, Maggie Fessler, Wade and wife Nicole Michael, and Brady Michael.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Fessler; and one sister, Alice Haddock.
A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 2, at Salem Zion Church, Pillow, followed by a memorial service at 11.
Interment will be in the Union Cemetery, Pillow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Larry's memroy may be made to Pillow Historical Society, or Homeland Hospice.
