Kim B. Kuhn, 61, of Northumberland, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2017, at Geisinger Medical Center.
Kim was born March 17, 1956, in Pontiac, Michigan, to the late Alan M. Rook and Irma Joyce Rook Leibenguth.
She was a 1974 graduate of Pennridge High School, Perkasie, and went on to earn her BSN from Bloomsburg University and a master's in nursing administration from Drexell University. She was a member of Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society of Nursing.
Kim was a registered nurse at Geisinger Medical Center for 25 years holding positions as a critical care staff nurse, administrative supervisor, operations manager of the SCU and Director of Nursing for Work Force Management. Kim was passionate about nursing, the people who shared her love of the profession and the honor the profession holds.
Surviving family members include her husband, James A. Lauffer, of Northumberland; sons, Joshua Kuhn, of Peoria, Arizona, and Jesse Kuhn and his wife Erika, of Moon Township, Pa.; a sister, Mary Beth Morrell, of Harleysville, Pa.; and Edward Kuhn, of Orangeville, father of her sons. Also surviving are two step-children, Brian Lauffer and his wife Amanda, of Cockysville, Md. and Stacey Lauffer, of Duryea, Pa. Kim was proud of her three grandchildren, Jacob, 9, Ozzie, 2, and Lydia, a newborn. She has two step-grandchildren, Clementine, 4, and Evan, 3.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Corienne.
Contributions may be made in her memory to Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society of Nursing.
A graveside memorial service will be held at a date and time to be determined.
Arrangements are by the Jerre Wirt Blank Funeral Home, 309 Water St., Northumberland.
