Judy D. Bonawitz, 65, of Selinsgrove, passed away after a long courageous battle with dementia and ALS on May 18, 2017.
She was born Feb. 29, 1952, (Leap Year), a daughter of Orpha Ruth (Inch) Scholl and the late John "Toole" Scholl. She was married to Lee A. Bonawitz who survives.
Judy was a graduate of Selinsgrove High School.
Her employment began at a sewing factory in Port Trevorton, then later worked at Villager Realty, M.C. Bonawitz & Son, the Loyal Order of the Moose, as a Notary Public, and retired from Zimmerman Motors of Sunbury.
While enjoying racing and trail riding Jeeps and snowmobiling, Judy's true passion was training and showing her beloved dogs.
In addition to her husband and mother, Judy is survived by one son, Chad Bogar; stepchildren, Lee Bonawitz Jr. and Faye E. Bonawitz-Carlson; grandchildren, Remington, Hunter, Samantha, and Myla.
A private memorial service will be held at Witmer Methodist Church in Port Trevorton.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Judy's honor to The ALS Association.
Arrangements are by the V.L. Seebold Funeral Home, 601 N. High St., Selinsgrove.
