Joyce M. Moore, 85, of Cherry Tree Lane, Turbotville, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2017, at Geisinger Home Health Hospice at Maria Hall, Danville.
She was born June 26, 1932, in Shamokin, a daughter of the late Fred D. and Ada E. (Heim) Derk. On Oct. 7, 1950, she married her high school sweetheart, William T. Moore and they have celebrated 67 years of marriage.
Joyce was a 1950 graduate of Shamokin High School and had worked at Farmer's National Bank in Watsontown.
She was a member of the Watsontown Alliance Church and taught Good News Club for many years.
Joyce enjoyed cooking and gardening, and was known for her beautiful flower beds. Most of all she loved taking care of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and talking to them about the Lord. Her biggest wish would be that you all "Be There".
Surviving besides her husband are her son, William Moore, of Hazleton; two daughters, Gale I. Tuomisto, of Northumberland and Cathy P. Moore, of Montgomery; 10 grandchildren, Maggie Kurtz, Jason Foresman, Nathan Foresman, Molly Kearney, Jocelin Bailey, Emily Ayers, Jenni Soohy, Mary-Grace Reardon, Erik Tuomisto and Seth Slykhuis; 14 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Leanna Derk, of Milton.
She was preceded in death by her son, David T. Moore on July 12, 2017; and nine brothers and sisters.
Friends and family are invited to call from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday at Watsontown Alliance Church, 1165 Eighth St Drive, Watsontown, followed by the funeral at noon, with the Rev. Donald Jones officiating.
Burial will follow in Presbyterian Cemetery, McEwensville.
