Josephine E. Thomas, 90, of East Market Street, Beavertown, passed away on Wednesday, May 17, 217, at the Evangelical Community Hospistal, Lewisburg
She was born Oct. 19, 1926, in Port Ann, a daughter of the late John and Mazie (Shawver) Oldt. On March 19, 1944, she married Roy Marshall Thomas who preceded her in death on Nov. 30, 2014.
Josephine attended school in Port Ann.
She was previously employed at Chef Boyardee, Philco, and the Beavertown Weaving Mill from where she retired.
Josephine was a longtime member of Beavertown God's Missionary Church.
In her spare time she enjoyed baking pies, cooking, sitting outside on her porch during the summer and especially loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Jane Thomas; one daughter, Barbara Thomas; three grandchildren, Dwayne Thomas and wife Tammy, Tim Thomas and wife Penny, and David Thomas; three great-grandchildren, Deborah, Alyssa and Vance; three great-great-grandchildren, Brian Jr., Sadie, and Trey; her twin sister, Irene Zechman; and one sister-in-law, Martha Aumiller.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one great-granddaughter, Jenny Thomas; her brothers, George, Charlie, John and Walter Oldt; one brother Albert Oldt in infancy; and two sisters, Mary Hackenburg and Rhetta Loss.
A graveside service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Beavertown, with the Rev. Jeffrey Stratton officiating.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Josephine's memory may be made to the Beavertown God's Missionary Church, 1693 Creek Road, Middleburg, PA 17842.
Arrangements are by the Pheasant Funeral Home, 316 W. Market St., Beavertown.
