Joseph E. Troutman, 79, of Herndon, passed away Sunday, March 11, 2018, at Premier at Susquehanna Village, Millersburg.
He was born Dec. 25, 1938, a son of the late Guy W. and Blanche (Peifer) Troutman.
He was married for 35 years to the former Barbara Hummel. They were married in January of 1983.
Joseph served one enlistment in the Army.
He was self-employed as an owner/operator, hauling for Michael Foods. He was also a partner with his brother, Daniel, in J&D Troutman Farms of Herndon.
He was a member of the Herndon Lodge 702 F&AM, Tall Cedars of Lebanon, the Gratz and Klingerstown Fire companies, the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau, and was also a member of the Teamsters.
Joseph was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, reloading ammo, and going to camp.
He is survived by two sons, Craig A. Troutman and his wife, Michelle, of Hebe Bypass, and Joey Troutman of Hebe; two stepsons, Dean W., husband of Alex Foster, of Klingerstown, and Shane W. Foster, of Millersburg; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Orpha M. Strohecker; one brother, Allen G. Troutman; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Daniel I. Troutman
A visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at St. Paul's U.C.C., 1473 Urban Road, Herndon. The Masonic Lodge will conduct their service at 11 a.m., followed by the funeral.
Interment will be in David's UCC Cemetery, Hebe.
