John Carl Miller, 81, of Noll Street, Lewisburg, passed away on Dec. 10, 2017, at his home.
He was born May 5, 1936, in West Milton, a son of the late Robert E. Miller and Estella (Erdley) Miller Keefer. On Jan. 17, 1959, he married the former Mary E. Haupt who preceded him in death in 2004.
Carl attended Lewisburg schools and was a veteran of the Army.
He was employed as a driver for Kepler Bros. Trucking and TNT Red Star trucking, retiring in 1993.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 182, Lewisburg.
Carl liked Bluegrass music, woodworking, and making his own wine. He enjoyed trips to Mohegan Sun and he loved to travel with his grandchildren.

He is survived by two sons, Marc A, Miller, of Harrisburg and Robert E. Miller, of Lewisburg; one daughter and son-in-law, Beth A. and Steve Kohler, of Mount Joy; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Harold and Beverly Miller, of Middleburg, and David and Maxine Miller, of Watsontown; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Marian Resseguie, of Lewisburg, Patsy and Ray Rugh, of Milton, and Janice Miller, of Milton; and two grandchildren, Alyssa and Tanner.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and a stepfather, Russell Keefer.
Friends and relatives will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Shaw Funeral Home, 400 N. Front St., Milton, with military honors being performed at 3:30 with the honor guard of the Lewisburg American Legion.
