John M. Baker, 49, of Sunbury, passed away Thursday, July 28, 2016, at his residence.
He was born March 6, 1967, in Lewisburg, a son of the late Alfred and Loretta (Revenis) Baker Sr.
John graduated from Lewisburg High School in 1985 and then served in the United States Marine Corp.
He was a retired correction officer at the Lewisburg Federal Penitentiary.
He was a member of American Legion Post 201, Goodwill Hose Co. and the Eagles Lodge all of Sunbury.
John was an avid Colts football fan, enjoyed watching movies, riding his motorcycle, but most of all, spending time with his two granddaughters.
He is survived by one daughter, Stephanie Hinkle and her husband, Gary, of Sunbury; two granddaughters, Chloe and Thorene Hinkle; one sister, Krissy Reitz, of Northumberland; one brother, Alfred Baker Jr., of Colorado; and one niece, Ashley Noker.
Friends may call from 5 to 6 p.m. Monday at the Jerre Wirt Blank Funeral Home, 395 State St., Sunbury, followed by a memorial service at 6 p.m. Full military honors will be accorded following the service.
