Joel M. Stauffer, 63, of 605 McClay Ave., Lewisburg, passed away Friday, Dec. 29, 2017, at Geisinger Medical Center.
He was born Aug. 16, 1954, in Danville, a son of Marlin and Marie (Pasukinis) Stauffer, of Lewisburg.
Joel graduated from the Lewisburg High School in 1972. He was a waiter among other positions at Mangia Qui Ristorante in Harrisburg.
He had a love for planting flowers and gardening, and loved the family's yearly trips to Rehoboth Beach, classic cars and old movies.
In addition to his parents he is survived by two brothers, James Stauffer and David (wife Sandy) Stauffer, and a sister, Susan (husband Michael) Weaver, all of Lewisburg, and a sister, Laurie Kleponis, of Crownsville, Md. Also surviving are seven nieces and nephews and seven great nieces and nephews.
Friends and relatives will be received from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 6, at the John H. Shaw III Funeral Home, Market and Eighth streets, Lewisburg, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 41 S. Eighth St., Lewisburg, with the Rev. Mark Wilke as celebrant.
Burial will follow in the Lewisburg Cemetery.
The family requests that donations in Joel's memory be made to either the American Cancer Society, 1948 E. Third St., Williamsport PA 17701 or to Sacred Heart Church, 41 S. Eighth St., Lewisburg, PA 17837.
Arrangements are by the John H. Shaw III Funeral Home, Market and Eighth streets, Lewisburg.
