Joel E. Renninger

Events

Joel E. Renninger, 50, of Richfield, went home to his heavenly father on July 8, 2019, at his home after suffering a massive heart attack.
He was born Aug. 23, 1968, in Lewisburg, a son of Earl and Lorraine (Snyder) Renninger of Mount Pleasant Mills. On June 11, 1988, in the Richfield Mennonite Church, he married his best friend, Karen Hummel who survives.

Joel was a 1986 graduate of Middleburg High School and attended Williamsport Area Community College where he majored in electronics.
He was employed for the last 17 years at Wood-Mode Inc., Kreamer. Before that he was employed for a short time at Yorktowne Cabinets, Mifflinburg. When he was 13 years old he started working at the family business, A.D. Renninger Lumber Company in Richfield. He knew all the ins and outs of the lumber business. There wasn't a species of tree that he couldn't identify.
Joel was "Mr. Fix It". He designed and built his family home. Our vehicles were always serviced and in top running condition. Being a provider was his most important job. And we never wanted for anything. He loved to tinker with computers building many over the years. He also loved to game. Most of all, Joel loved God. He would talk to anybody and everybody about his love for Christ. Joel loved his children and grandchildren. When the kids were leaving the house, he always said "be safe and make smart choices".

In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by four children, Abbigail and her fiance, Billy Shaffer, Nikolaas, Casandra and Noah, all of Richfield; two grandchildren, Ashlynn Smith and Greyson Shaffer; four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Debbie and Sam Cardillo, Dana and Mark Jalovic, Dawn and John Alderfer, and his twin, Jill Emerick.

Private services will be held at the Hummel Funeral Home, Middleburg, with Pastor Aaron Benner officiating.

Ecclesiates 3:1-4, There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens; a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance.
Dance my love, dance until we meet again!

Joel, I'm glad that each time we met up we would have one of our wonderful conversations about Jesus! I know you're resting in His arms now but that doesn't take away the pain. Say "Hi" to my mom up there! Until then.....

So sorry for your loss . Your loss is are loss to . I got to work with him the last few months at Wode Mode . Found out we were related. We shared some biblical thoughts and talks. It was nice to work with a true believer. You don't get to do that in this day and time anymore. I will miss him. May God bless you all and heal your heart.

I remember as a teenager Joel was one of my leaders at AWANA. I always looked up to him and am forever grateful that he took time out of his life to teach me about Christ.
