Joan A. Ritter, 86, formerly of Bloomsburg, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 15, 2017, at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
She was born July 2, 1931, in Danville, a daughter of the late Thomas "Tates" and Eva (Gateman) Hummer.
Joan attended Danville High School.
She was employed at the former Bloomsburg Woolworth store and lastly as a cashier for the former Hills Department Store, Buckhorn, until her retirement.
Joan was a member of the Jehovah's Witnesses Kingdom Hall, Bloomsburg.
She is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, D. Keith Ritter, of New York, David and Debbie Ritter, of Linden, and Michael and Heidi Ritter, of Orangeville; one grandson, Jordan; three granddaughters, Angela, Victoria and Julia; one great-granddaughter, Lilly; and three great-grandsons, Tristan, Gavin, and Carvin.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Thomas Hummer.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial funeral service at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1014 West St., Mifflinville, with Elder Glenn Kurzawa officiating.
The Richard W. Fritz Funeral Home, Ashland, is in charge of arrangements.
