James A. MacDonald, 65, of 1437 Spruce Run Road, Lewisburg, passed away Tuesday evening, Dec. 19, 2017, at The Manor At Penn Village, Selinsgrove.
A native of Lewisburg, he was born March 18, 1952, a son of the late Theodore I. and Ann M. (Meck) MacDonald. He was married to the former Rose Whitmyre and his death breaks a marital union of 42 years.
Jim was a graduate of the Lewisburg High School and served in the Milton Unit of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard for nine years.
He was a pressman at Moore Business Forms for 42 years.
Jim was a Christian and attended Christ Wesleyan Church of Milton and was a former member of the New Hope Lutheran Church.
He was a former president of the Buffalo Valley Sportsmen's Club and was head coordinator for the Union County hunter safety program.
Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, and crafts.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Wendy Bennage, of Montandon; one son, David (Cheryl) Whitmyre, of Middletown; one grandson, Cody Justin Bennage; one granddaughter, Haley May Bennage; one brother, Tim MacDonald and his wife Jean, of Hughesville; one sister, Cindy MacDonald, of Lewisburg; two nephews, Shane and Tom MacDonald; and great-nephews and nieces, Brittany, Brandon, Jillian, and Riley MacDonald.
Friends and relatives will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the John H. Shaw III Funeral Home Market and Eighth streets, Lewisburg, where the funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, with the Rev. Erik Ireland and David McCarty, officiating.
Burial will follow in Twin Hills Memorial Park. Military services will be by Lewisburg area veterans.
Donations in Jim's memory may be made to Wounded Warrior Project or to St. Judes Hospital.
