James A. Cannon, 87, of Hoy Road, Milton, passed away Saturday, Dec. 16, 2017, at his home with his wife by his side.
He was born March 10, 1930, in Point Township, Northumberland County, a son of the late Eugene L. and Sarah (Bollinger) Cannon. On Dec. 21, 1968, he married Eleanor B. Robinson and they have celebrated 48 years of marriage.
Jim was a 1949 graduate of Mifflinburg High School.
He was a driver for Beyer and Fortner, Lewisburg for 22 years and he drove for Bigler Fuels, Middleburg, where he retired from. Earlier in life he had briefly worked at Philco Ford Watsontown.
Jim was a member of the Mooresburg Presbyterian Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one sister, Cora Galbraith, of Sunbury; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother, John Cannon; and three sisters, Tessie Weidman, Ruth Auman, and Gladys Veley.
Family and friends and invited to a visitation from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Brooks Funeral Home, 124 Main St., Watsontown, followed by the funeral at 1:30, with his pastor, the Rev. John H. Shaw III officiating.
Burial will follow in Green Lawn Memorial Park, Montgomery.
