Ida's Story

Ida M. Eckhardt, 92, formerly of Liverpool, passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2017, at the Golden Living Center-Mansion, Sunbury.
She was born May 30, 1924, in Northumberland County, a daughter of the late Ella and Melvin Stamm. She was married to Robert G. Eckhardt

Ida enjoyed crocheting and crafting.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Joan Shatto, of Danville; four daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Randy Kline, of Maryland, Catherine and John Lyter, of Liverpool, Virginia and Walt Gamble, of New Buffalo and Tina and Robert Marks, of Liverpool; foster son, Frank McCabe, of Shamokin; two sisters, Patricia Smith and Ruth Hosterman, both of Lewisburg; 13 grandchildren; and many great and great-great- grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, George W Shatto III and wife Joyce; one brother, Melvin Stamm Jr.; one sister, Ina Wenrick; and one granddaughter, Kimberly Mae Chapman.

A viewing will be held from 11 a.m. to noon today at St. John "Barners" Lutheran Church, Liverpool, followed by the funeral at noon with the Rev. Nancy Knol officiating.
Burial will follow in the Liverpool Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Ida's memory may be made to St. John "Barners" Lutheran Church, 5 Barner Road, Liverpool, PA. 17045.

Arrangements are by the David Myers Funeral Home, Newport.
