Hope's Story

Text size

It pains us to admit it, but apparently Hope A. Rebuck, born June 11, 1935, has fallen asleep for the last time. Everyone told her it would happen one day but that's simply not something she was willing to do, as she loved life and her quiet practical jokes.

She was delighted to be a daughter of Harry and Flossy Clark, wife of Ernest, mother of Rodney, Brent (and Patty). Grandmother of Joshua (Brittain) and Rebecca, and became surrogate to Dylan and Colyn. She was the best sister to Jean, who cooked, Joyce who held her hand, and Bill, who thought he could ride a bike. She was a beloved teacher, a women of faith, and a child of God. She was a world traveler, loved family camping, and bowling. She enjoyed her breakfasts with friends, and somebody else's cooking. Winters from behind the window, and flowers from a distance. Playing cards until the Apple Jack came out, and loved laughter.

She was a member of the Rebekah's, Himmel's Church and the Breakfast Bunch. She was a caregiver to many. She had the most beautiful smile, and the funniest sense of humor. She now waits for the return of Christ.

A viewing will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, at Himmel's Church, 107 Covered Bridge Road, Dornsife, where the funeral service will follow at 11:30 a.m. The Rebekah's Lodge will conduct their service at 11:30 a.m.
Interment will follow in Himmel's Cemetery.

The Stephen R. Rothermel Funeral Home, Klingerstwon has charge of the arrangements.
