Homer's Story

Homer A. Yetter Sr., 88, of Mount Pleasant Mills, entered into rest on Wednesday evening, Jan. 17, 2018, at the Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.
He was born Dec. 16, 1929, in Snyder County, a son of the late Charles and Edith (Chubb) Yetter. On June 15, 1952, he married the former June Finkenbiner who survives. The couple was married for 65½ years.

Homer retired after 40 years of employment for Conrail at the Northumberland Yards as a track man.
He held memberships in the Fremont Fire Company, the Richfield Fire Company and Ambulance League, and the Reliance Hose Company Ambulance League in Middleburg.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Homer A. Yetter Jr., of Mount Pleasant Mills, and Larry and Debra Yetter, of Kreamer; two granddaughters, Shalea and Matthew Smith Sr., of Mount Carmel, and Kyla Yetter, of Middleburg; one great- granddaughter, Kira Vallati; one stepgreat-grandson, Matthew Smith Jr.; one brother, Luther Yetter, of Middleburg; and one sister-in-law, Martha Yetter, of Delaware.
He was preceded by eight brothers and three sisters.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, followed by the funeral service at 11, at the George P. Garman Funeral Homes Inc., 9366 Route 35, Mount Pleasant Mills, with the Rev. Roger L. Womer officiating.
Burial will follow in Arbogast Cemetery, Mount Pleasant Mills.
