Homer L. Weaver, 66, of Ludington Drive, Lake, Mich., entered into rest on Sunday, Jan. 28, 2018, at home after a lengthy battle with pancreatic cancer.
He was born March 18, 1951 in Norfolk, Va., a son of the late Oliver K. and the late Alverda M. (Yoder) Weaver. He was married to the former Barbara J. Jones with whom he celebrated 46 years of marriage.
In his younger years, he was employed as a delivery driver for Weis Markets, Sunbury, Pa., and owner of H.L. Weaver Refrigeration of Mount Pleasant Mills, Pa. He was a resident of Mount Pleasant Mills until 2007 when he moved to Lake, Mich., to help start a church outreach. At the time of his death he was the owner of Dyna - Bignell Company of Clare, Mich.
He was an active member of Great Lakes Mennonite Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by five daughters and one son, Rhoda Detweiler and husband Michael of Cadillac, Mich.; Ruth Bennetch and husband John of Carlisle, Pa.; Laura Kauffman and husband Richard of Rosebud, Texas; Daryl and wife Denise of Lake, Mich.; Marilyn Bechtel and husband Carlin of Lott, Texas; Patricia Reiff and husband Justin of Mifflintown, Pa.; and 15 grandchildren; and five brothers and seven sisters.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
A visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m Thursday, Feb. 1. The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 2. Both will be held at Great Lakes Mennonite Church, 720 Ann Arbor Trail, Clare, MI 48617.
Burial will be at Rosebush Amish Cemetery, Rosebush, Mich.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Homer may be made to Great Lakes Mennonite Church.
