Helen L. Yeager


Helen L. Yeager, 85, of Lower Road, Shamokin, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2018, with her family by her side at the UPMC Susquehanna Sunbury Hospital.
She was born Sept. 16, 1933, in little Mahanoy Township, a daughter of the late Charles and Flora (White) Long. On Sept. 24, 1955, she married Marlin F. "Sonny" Yeager Sr. who survives.

Helen lived most of her life in West Cameron and was a 1951 graduate of Trevorton High School.
She retired after 25 years of service from Pennsylvania National Bank, Trevorton. She was an auditor for West Cameron Township for many years.
Helen enjoyed her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an avid reader, enjoyed crossword puzzles, playing cards with family, and playing games on line.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Faith and Reese Walter of Delano, and Hope and Tim Wetzel of Herndon; two sons and daughters-in-law, Marlin "Butch" Jr. and Missy Yeager of West Cameron, and Steven and Mai Yeager of Harrisburg; daughter-in-law, Karen Yeager of West Cameron; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Nancy Hoover of Mechanicsburg, Dora Billet of Tampa, Florida, and Paralee Murphy of Seven Points; and four brothers, Charles "Dan" Long of Harrisburg, James Long of Aurora, Colo., Robert Long of Williamsport, and Bruce Long of Hebe.
She was preceded in death by one son, Kenneth C. Yeager Sr.; one sister, Flora "Flick" Reigle; and one brother, Earl Long.

At Helen's request there will be no calling hours. A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.

The Robert G. Foust Jr. Funeral Home, 841 W, Shamokin St., Trevorton is assisting the family with arrangements.
