Harvey's Story

Harvey J. Kreamer Jr., 1750 Creek Mountain Road, Kreamer, went to be with his Lord on Dec. 8, 2016, at his home.

He was born Sept. 8, 1940, in Kreamer, a son of the late Harvey J. and Ethel (Dinius) Kreamer, of Kreamer. On June 23, 1963, he married Patricia A. (Gluntz), formerly of Harrisburg. His death breaks a martial union of 53 years.

Harvey was a 1958 graduate of Middleburg High School, Central Pennsylvania Business School in Harrisburg, and later Bank School, Justice of the Peace School and Income Tax School.

Earlier years, he was a Cub Scout and Boy Scout Leader Pack 1400, in Kreamer.

He was formerly employed by G.C. Murphy Co., Harrisburg. He served 12 years as Justice of the Peace, worked 29 years at Snyder County Trust Co., and worked 18 years at Snyder County Court House, Middleburg, as Register and Recorder. He was past President of the Register of Wills Association. He was the treasurer for the Register of Wills Association for the State of Pennsylvania. He owned his own Income Tax Service for more than 52 years.

Harvey was a member of the Middleburg Masonic Lodge 619, the Harrisburg Consistory, the Gideon's and the Selinsgrove Moose. He always enjoyed meeting and working with the public and he always loved co-hosting the Tuesday Night Bible Study in his home. He did the Walk to Emmaus, sitting at the table of John, the weekend he loved and never forgot.

He was a member of Hummel's United Methodist Church, Middleburg.

In addition to his wife, Harvey is survived by one son, John and his wife Dixie Kreamer, of Middleburg; one daughter, Denise and her husband Charles (Chuck) McKnight, of McClure; grandchildren, Drew, Jace, and Jeron Kreamer, Sean and wife Jody McKnight, Felicia and Jeff Banks, Isaac McKnight, Tyler Snook, and Allysa and Wyatt Esh; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Jayden, Zander and Adrein McKnight; one sister, Cindy and husband Kent Wyatt, of Harrisburg; one brother, Gene and wife Patti Kreamer, of Kreamer; nieces, Angie and husband Nate Jovanelly, their children Gavin, Allison and Dillon; Stacey and Joe Kocevar, and children Joey and Audrey, all of Harrisburg; Jed and his wife Rachel Kreamer and sons Oliver and August, of Lapaloma, Calif.; Gwen and husband Wayne Davis and daughter Carlynn, of Altoona; and special friends, Stacey and Karl Zerbe, Tammy and Bob Drick, Becky and Doug Edmiston, and Trish and Mike Jordan.

Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, 2016, at Hummel's United Methodist Church, followed by the funeral. Officiating will be Pastor Carvel May.

Burial will be held at Hummel's United Methodist Church Cemetery, Middleburg.
