Harold's Story

Harold E. "Butch" Metzger Jr., 66, of Priestley Avenue, Northumberland, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2018, at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.

He was born Aug. 12, 1951, in Sunbury, a son of Harold E. and Ruth M. (Tressler) Metzger, of Northumberland. On Aug. 28, 1971, he married his wife of 46 years, Janet L. (Snyder) Metzger who survives.

Harold was a 1969 graduate of Shikellamy High school.
He was employed for 36 years at ACF in Milton where he worked as a welding inspector.
He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church.
In his spare time he enjoyed woodworking and traveling and especially loved attending his grandchildren's sporting events.

Surviving in addition to his wife and parents are one son and daughter-in-law, Richard A. and Diana M. Metzger, of Selinsgrove; two grandchildren, Kinsey and Evan Metzger; one sister-in-law, Ann Louise Botkin and her husband Roger; nephew, Timothy Botkin and his wife Nicole; great-niece, Payton Botkin; niece, Danielle Botkin; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Harold's memory can be made to Grace Lutheran Point Township Church, 2190 Route 11, Northumberland, PA 17857.
Arrangements are by the Joseph W. Epler Funeral Home, 210 King St., Northumberland.
