Harold Slotterback Klauger, 89, of Weikert, passed away at 4:11 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 25, 2018, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.
He was born Feb. 25, 1929, in Ashland, a son of the late William and Molly (Slotterback) Klauger. On Jan. 22, 1951, he married the former Alma Esther (Heizenroth) Klauger who survives.
Harold was a 1947 graduate of Ashland Area High School. Following high school he joined the Navy and served as a Pharmacist Mate until his honorable discharge in 1950.
Harold was a self employed plumber during 1950s and 60s. He then went to work for DOW, Inc., Lewisburg, initially in the field and later in the office as an estimator.
He was a member of the UA Local 520, Plumbers and Pipefitters Union.
Harold enjoyed hunting and fishing and had a cottage on the St. Lawrence River that he enjoyed visiting.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Dallas and Toni Klauger of Weikert, and Paul and Sherri Klauger of Millmont; one daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Gary Struble of Weikert; seven grandchildren, Chad, Matthew, Brooke, Kristi, Shauna, Clinton, Alisha; eight great-grandchildren, Amanda, Kaitlyn, Darren, Austin, Collin, Kylie, MacKenzie, Lacie; and his beloved dog, Missy.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Minerva Umlauf and Larrain Burmeister; and four brothers, Lewis, Paul, Lloyd, and Wilmer Klauger.
Family and friends are invited to the viewing from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Hironimus Union Church, Weikert, followed by the funeral at 2, with the Rev. Richard L. DeVett officiating.
Interment will be in the Hironimus Union Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Harold's memory may be made to Wounded Warriors of PA,1117 Country Club Road, Camp Hill, PA 17011.
