Harold S. Gelnett, 77, of Port Trevorton, passed away on Friday, Dec. 15, 2017, at Geisinger Medical Center, emergency room, Danville.
He was the husband of the late Marcella K. (Nichols) Gelnett. The couple were married for 40 years at the time of her passing.
Harold was born at home in Chapman Township, Snyder County on June 11, 1940. He was the son of the late Stanley and Mildred (Suffel) Gelnett.
He retired from Local 542 Operating Engineers, Philadelphia. Harold was a 1958 graduate of Selinsgrove High School and was a life member of the Port Trevorton Fire Company. He enjoyed hunting and spending time with his grandchildren and great-granddaughter.
Harold is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, James L. and Debra Gelnett, of Port Trevorton; a daughter and son-in-law, Ann M. and Doug Lauver, of Mount Pleasant Mills; three grandchildren, Jameson Gelnett and his companion Nichole, Melissa Gelnett, and Courtney Lauver; a great-granddaughter, Ava Gelnett; a brother and sister-in-law, John and Lydia Gelnett, of Meiserville; a sister, Lois Gelnett, of Mount Pleasant Mills, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Albert and Patricia Gelnett.
Friends and family are invited to the viewing on Monday, Dec. 18, from 6 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 8 p.m. from the George P. Garman Funeral Homes, Inc., 9366 Route 35, Mount Pleasant Mills. Officiating will be Jane Gehers, a friend of the family.
