Harold L. Folk

Harold Leroy "Herb" Folk, 86, of Beaver Springs, went home to Jesus on July 31, 2019.
He was born June 29, 1933, a son of the late Charles and Herma (Knepp) Folk.

Herb was one of 13 children and told many stories of playing ball, walking to school and working on the farms. His favorite ball team was the Philadelphia Phillies and enjoyed watching them win or pounding the arms of his chair when they lost. He met his wife of 40 years, Key E. (Proud) Folk at the Playhouse in McClure.
Earlier in life Herb served in the Navy. Upon returning home he was employed at Standard Steel for 33 years.
In the community he served as president of the Lions Club, volunteered for various activities for the McClure Fire Company, and was Sunday school superintendent at some local United Methodist churches.
People knew Herb for his joking personality. He was known and loved by many and our hearts will forever miss him.

He is survived by eight children and their spouses, Carol and Jake McKnight, Sharon and Lewis Knepp, Kathy "Cook" and John Morrison, Pamela and Scott Hackenburg, Sherry and Fred Wagner, Wayne and Allyson Folk, Brad Folk and Mark Motyl; 28 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great- grandchildren; one sister, Frona Norman; and three brothers, Glenn Folk, Clifford Folk, and George Folk.
He was preceded in death by five siblings, Katherine Wright, Grace Shively, Evelyn (Eddie) Wagner, Janice Folk, John Folk and Jimmy Folk.

A celebration of his life will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 18, at the Spring Township Community Park in Beaver Springs.

In lieu of flowers, any monetary donations can be made to Three Rivers Community Church and West End Bible Fellowship Church in memory of Herb.

Arrangements are by the Pheasant Funeral Home, 130 S. Zechman St., Beavertown.
