Harold V. Bloom Jr., 89, of Selinsgrove, passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2016, at his home.
He was born March 23, 1927, in Aristes, a son of the late Victor and Anna (Beaver) Bloom. He was married to the former Geraldine Mae Hampton who survives. On April 7, they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.
Harold was a veteran of the Navy.
He was employed as a lab technician for Union Carbide/ Dow Chemical.
He was a member of the Mount Carmel America Legion.
Harold enjoyed bowling and was very handy, always working on projects or working on something.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Linda Bloom, of Frenchtown, N.J.; one daughter and son-in-law, Darla and Ronald Hadley, of Randolph, N.J.; one brother, Martin Bloom, of Sunbury; one sister, Kathryn McVaugh, of Friendsville; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Bloom.
A viewing will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Rothermel-Heizenroth Funeral & Cremation Service, Elysburg, followed by the funeral at 11, with the Rev. Rose Marquardt officiating.
Interment will be in Aristes Cemetery.
