Grant Elwood Klinger, 88, of Selinsgrove, known as "Pete", passed away Friday, Dec. 22, 2017.
He was born Jan. 24, 1929, in a farmhouse in Rockefeller Township, Northumberland County. He was the fourth oldest of 12 children born to the late James R. and Helen M. (Marks) Klinger. He was married for 67 years to the love of his life, Bernice R. (Rowe) Klinger, who survives.
Pete was raised on a farm in Kratzerville and worked for 42 years at Wood-Mode Industries in Kreamer.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his siblings, Marian Quick, Kenneth Klinger, and Janet Campbell, all of Florida; his children, Keith A. and Deb Klinger, of Duncannon, Dennis R. and Cathy Klinger, of Hummel Wharf, Carol J. McCreary, Terry L. Klinger, and Tina M. Mull, all of Selinsgrove, and Paul J. Klinger, of Kissimmee, Fla. "Pappy" also leaves behind his grandchildren, Tracy, Joseph, Karen, Jen, Heather, Chris, James, Tiffany, Kristi, Chad, Steven, Stephanie, Amanda, Paul Jr., Jessica, Trudy and Adam; 35 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Grant was preceded in death by his daughter, Sherry L. Beaver; grandsons, Mike Beaver and Jeremy G. Klinger; brothers, James R. Jr, Fred, and Clair Klinger; and sisters, Gladys Hollenbach, Dorothy Wenrich, Nettie Bell, Evie Letterman and Elsie Spangler.
Friends and family will be received from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 27, at the V.L. Seebold Funeral Home, 601 N. High St., Selinsgrove, followed by the funeral at 11:30 with the Rev. Douglas Boden officiating.
Burial will be in Globe Mills Cemetery, Middleburg.
