Glenn L. Mummey

Glenn L. Mummey, 89, of Selinsgrove, passed away on Friday, July 5, 2019, at his home.
He was born June 17, 1930, in Tharptown, a son of the late Harry D. and Sylvia (Adams) Mummey. On June 10, 1950, he was married to the former Gladys H. Ferster by the Rev. John Harms in St. John's Lutheran Church, Hagerstown, Md.

Growing up on the family farm and later purchasing his own dairy farm, Glenn farmed all of his life until 1969. He then became employed with PennDOT, retiring after 22 years of service as a supervisor.

He completed many wood working projects over the years and had a wood shop the envy of many. Glenn's retirement days were filled with much joy spending every day possible in his workshop, making projects for his family and friends. Glenn loved days camping, making his homemade ice cream, traveling throughout the United States and to several countries and years at the cabin. He loved his little farm with a huge variety of animals over the years. A true handyman and inspiration to so many people.

In addition to his wife of 69 years, Glenn is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Nancy and Glen Wentzel of Selinsgrove, and Sandra Fischer of Knoxville, Pa.; one son and daughter-in-law, Glenn Jr. and Lynn Mummey of Surfside Beach, S.C.; six grandchildren, Chris, Nicholas, Jason, Garret, Glenn III and Marie; several great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mildred Snyder.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Myron, Nevin and Wayne Mummey; sister, Doris Wolfe; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harry L. and Florence Ferster; and brother-in-law, William Ferster.

Friends and family may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 10, at United Lutheran Church, 167 Seven Points Road, Sunbury, followed by the funeral at 11, with the Rev. Andrew Weaver officiating.
Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery.

Flowers will be provided by Glenn's family and donations in his memory may be made to United Lutheran Church Sound System Fund, 167 Seven Points Road, Sunbury, PA 17801.

Arrangements are by the Zweier Funeral Home, 157 Chestnut Street, Sunbury.

- Hon, I can't wait to see what woodworking projects you complete in heaven, until we meet again. Love Mom.
