Glenn E. Luckenbill, 88, a lifelong resident of Bernville, Pa., passed away peacefully, Monday, October 16, 2017 in his home. Born in Penn Twp., August 3, 1929, Glenn was a son of the late James W. and Alice J. (Haag) Luckenbill. Married October 21, 1951, he was the long-devoted husband of the late Louise L. (Hiester) Luckenbill who passed in 2003.
Glenn served in the United States Air Force including two years during the Korean War and an additional fourteen years in the Air National Guard as Master Sgt. He spent most of his professional career in sales, eleven years with Coca-Cola Co and twenty-four years with CR Leffler. Community was important to Glenn and he served for twenty years as a Penn Twp Supervisor and as a member of the Zoning Hearing Board since 1997. He was also member of St. Thomas Church, the Lions Club, Bernville Fire Company, Mt. Pleasant Fire Company, and an officer of the Western Berks Swimming Association. As a veteran, Glenn also actively engaged the American Legion where he was a Lifetime Member, the Forty & Eight veteran organization, and the 148th Fighter Squadron Association.
Among his many roles, Glenn was a fun-loving and devoted father and grandfather. He loved his granddaughters deeply, having a special relationship with each of them.
Glenn is survived by a son, Thomas M. Luckenbill of Womelsdorf, Pa. and a daughter, Jane L. Scurfield, wife of George of Lewisburg, Pa. He is also survived by three granddaughters, Molly Getz, wife of Robbie, of Newmanstown, Pa.; Sarah Luckenbill of Washington DC and Kate Scurfield of Seattle, Wa.
In addition to his wife and parents, Glenn is predeceased by his brother, Stanley Luckenbill.
Services are respectfully private to be held at the convenience of Glenn's family.
