Glen J. Emery, 84, of Liverpool, entered into rest on Tuesday evening, July 18, 2017, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
He was the husband of the late Erma J. (Stroup) Emery, who preceded him in death on Jan. 11, 2011. Glen was born on Oct. 6, 1932, in Black Log Valley, Juniata County. He was the son of the late John and Anna (Weimer) Emery.
He was an Army veteran serving during the Korean War and was honorably discharged on April 14, 1955. Glen retired from Susquehanna Elementary School after 14 years and was formerly employed at Hempt Brothers, Camp Hill and Central Builders.
He was a member of Dressler's Ridge United Methodist Church, Mount Pleasant Mills and the Richfield Fire and Ambulance companies.
Glen enjoyed woodworking, camping, and playing cards. He also did taxidermy and cutting hair for neighbors and friends.
He is survived by his two children, Roberta Rumfelt, wife of Gerald, of Millerstown and Ronald Emery, of Liverpool; three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and his special friend, Shirley Scholl, of Selinsgrove.
Glen was also preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Debra Emery, on Feb. 2, 2013; and a granddaughter-in-law, Bobbi Jo Rumfelt; a sister, Roberta Emery; and three half sisters, Ethel Harris, Irene Woodward and Gladys Williamson.
Friends and family are invited to the viewing on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m., all from Dressler's Ridge United Methodist Church, 4180 Dressler Ridge Road, Mount Pleasant Mills. Officiating will be Pastor Andrew A. Bucke.
Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery.
