Gerald B. Shambach, 80, of Watsontown, passed away Saturday, Nov. 11, 2017, at his home.
He was born Dec. 19, 1936, in Middleburg, a son of the late H. Stuart and Mabel A. (Bailey) Shambach. On Sept. 28, 1985, he married the former Sarah E. Ulrich and they have celebrated 32 years of marriage.
Gerald was a 1955 graduate of Middleburg High School and of the former Williamsport Technical School.
He was employed by B.Z. Motors of Lewisburg for 37 years.
He was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Watsontown.
Gerald had a special interest in using old sewing machines to turn them into collectible tractors. He enjoyed square-dancing and hunting but most of all he loved spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Scott L. and Daria Shambach, of Vicksburg; one daughter and son-in-law, Annette M. and Tim Erdley, of Lewisburg; two stepsons, Ricky L. Campbell and his wife Julie, of Allenwood and Eric P. Campbell, of Watsontown; one stepdaughter, Vicky K. Hesman and her husband Nicholas,of Watsontown; one granddaughter, Melissa Brown and her husband Jeffrey, of Selinsgrove and six other grandchildren; two stepgrandsons; a special great-granddaughter, Kaleigh Brown, of Selinsgrove and three other great-granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Tiffany Erdley in 1993.
A memorial service for Gerald will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Lutheran Church, 6590 Musser Lane, Watsontown, with the Rev. Faron Johnson, his pastor, officiating.
Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest contributions in Gerald's memory be made to his church.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Brooks Funeral Home and Cremation Svc, PC, 124 Main St., Watsontown.
