Georgietta  Rozinskie


Georgietta (Wright) Rozinskie, 72, of 202 S. Coal St., Shamokin, passed away on her birthday, Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2016, at the Geisinger-Shamokin Area Community Hospital, Coal Township, with her loving family by her side.
She was born in the family farmhouse in New Berlin on Nov. 29, 1944, a daughter of the late Maybelle Irene (Wright) Purcell and John Purcell. She was raised by Charles and Sadie Mae Wright in New Berlin.
Georgietta was married to George S. Rozinskie Jr., a former Mayor and Councilman in the City of Shamokin. They were married in Paxinos on May 26, 2002.

Growing up at the homestead in Union County, she graduated from Mifflinburg High School.
She was employed as a seamstress and sewing machine operator at Hillside Sportswear and Shelly Ann Mills. She worked two jobs to help raise her family.
A parishioner of Our Lady of Hope Church, Coal Township, she was a member of the St. Francis Home Association and Knights of Columbus, Shamokin.
Georgietta's family meant everything to her.

In addition to her loving husband George, she is survived by a daughter, Lisa J. Kelly and her life-partner, Walter W. Hendricks, of Coal Township, and their children, Jamie and William Golden and Garrett, Brandon, Alysia, Jim and Jason Hendricks; a daughter, Michelle Johnson and husband Todd, of Shamokin, and their children, Drew Kelly and Michael, Andrea and Zachary Johnson; a daughter, Brandi Porter and husband Chris, of Boones Mill, Va., and their child, Elli; a daughter, Margaret Lahr and husband Bill, of Trevorton, and their children, Billy and Melissa Lahr; a son, George S. Rozinskie III, of Lake Gaston, Va., and his son, George S. "Buddy" Rozinskie IV; a daughter, Cindy Hornberger and husband Jim, of Trevorton, and their children, James, Jamie and Sueellen Hornberger; a daughter, Linda Gilligbauer, of Shamokin, and her child, Gary Gilligbauer; a son, Paul Lenig, of Trevorton; a daughter-in-law, Sue Lenig, of Herndon, wife of her late son, Bob Lenig, and their children, Paula, Amy and Danny Lenig; children of her late daughter, Connie Derck, Connie and Anthony Peipher; a sister, Barbara Janeshefskie and husband Edward, of Hummelstown, and their children, Annette, Allison, Amanda and Rebecca; a brother, James Purcell and wife Sue, of Harrisburg, and their daughter, Adrienne; and numerous great- grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the James Kelley Funeral Home, 1001 W. Arch St. at Maple Street, Coal Township. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at Our Lady Of Hope Church, First and Chestnut Streets, Coal Township, with the Rev. Steven Frenier, O.F.M., Conv., as celebrant.
Interment will follow Mass in the Calvary Section at St. Edward Cemetery, Coal Township.

Georgietta requested as an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions be made to the Breast Cancer Research Fund, (, 60 E. 56th St., 8th Floor, New York, NY 10022.
