George N. Bordner Jr.

George N. Bordner Jr. George N. Bordner Jr., 81, of Richfield, entered into rest on Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2018, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. He was the husband of Shelby J. (Graybill) Bordner, who survives. The couple were married 62 years at the time of his passing.

George was born at home on March 23, 1937, in Perry Township, Snyder County, a son of the late George N. Sr. and Helen M. (Kratzer) Bordner.

He was formerly employed at Groce's Silk Mill, Selinsgrove, Sunbury Textile Mills, Harvey Swartz's Garage in Richfield for more than 40 years, and most recently until health reasons at Soaring Eagle Security of Selinsgrove and did security services at Professional Building Systems, Middleburg.

George was a member of Richfield United Church of Christ.

He enjoyed deer hunting and butchering with his brother "Skip".

In addition to his wife, George is survived by a son, Stephen W. Bordner, of Richfield; a sister, Twila Faust, of Danville; a brother, Leroy "Skip" Bordner of Mount Pleasant Mills; a sister-in-law, Mary Bordner, of Selinsgrove; many nieces and nephews, and a grand-niece.

George was preceded in death by a son, Scott Allen Bordner, in infancy; three brothers, Lee Bordner, Galen Bordner, and Leonard "Pete" Bordner; a sister and brother-in-law, Virginia and Paul Boyer; a brother-in-law, Elmer Faust; and a sister-in-law, Emma Bordner.

Friends and family are invited to the viewing on Saturday, Aug. 11, 2018, from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. at Richfield United Church of Christ, 44 Church St., Richfield. Officiating will be Rev. Tammy S. Gessner.

Burial will be in the Richfield Union Cemetery.

Memorial gifts may be made in loving memory of George to his church.

The George P. Garman Funeral Homes, Inc., 9366 Route 35, Mount Pleasant Mills, have been entrusted with the arrangements.
