Gene L. Bowman, 79, of 130 S. Front St., Sunbury, passed away at his home on Thursday, April 6, 2017.
He was born in Sunbury on Aug. 23, 1937, a son of the late Lloyd and Sara (Sanders) Bowman. He married the love of his life, Sandra L. Faust, on March 29, 1970, who passed May 30, 2010.
Gene attended Sunbury schools. He served in the Army Reserves. He worked for Bucknell University as a professional custodian cleaner retiring after 25 years of service.
He loved being with his wife (whom he missed dearly) and family. His life revolved around his grandson. He enjoyed cookouts, camping, carnivals, and the Squeeze In where he liked his hotdogs burned. He was a Philadelphia Eagles football fan.
Gene is survived by his daughter, Laurie A. Knotts, of Danville; grandson, Ryan Kalcich; brother, Charles Berry, of New Berlin; sisters, Dolly Bainbridge and Mary Weaver, both of Sunbury, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Joan Williams and Shirley Propst.
Services are at the convenience of the family.
