Gary's Story

Gary L. "Jake" Dressler, 68, of Freeburg, entered into rest on Thursday, July 27, 2017, at his home.
He was born July 5, 1949, in Freeburg, a son of the late Elwood and Luella "Ellie" (Longacre) Dressler. He was married to the former June T. Arbogast who survives. The couple were married for 22 years.

Gary was a graduate of Selinsgrove High School.
He was employed with the Iron Workers Local Union No. 404, Harrisburg for 10 years. He also worked at his father's service station in Freeburg and was engaged in farming.
He was a member of St. Thomas Independent Brethren in Christ Church, Mount Pleasant Mills. He held life memberships with the Kreamer Sportsman's Association, the Freeburg Fire Company, and the National Rifle Association.
Gary enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, and light construction. He also enjoyed attending hunting camp in Potter County in his younger years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Timothy Dressler, of Nevada, Travis Dressler and wife, Sherri, of Nevada, Nick Zimmerman, of Mount Pleasant Mills, and Amy Campbell and husband, Perry, of Freeburg; six grandchildren, Jourdin Dressler, Ashley Campbell, twins, Garrett and Brianna Campbell, and twins, Megan and Marcie Dressler; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Audrey and Robert Dreese, of Freeburg, Beverly and George Thomas, of Colorado, and Vicki Walter, of South Carolina; brother-in-law, Blair Goodling, of Mount Pleasant Mills; and many nieces and nephews.
Gary was preceded in death by one sister, Donna Goodling; and brother-in-law, Bob Walter.

Friends and family are invited to the viewing from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at St. Thomas Independent Brethren in Christ Church, 1070 St. Thomas Road, Mount Pleasant Mills, followed by the funeral at 3, with the Rev. Roger L. Womer officiating. A time of fellowship and a meal will follow at the church.
Burial will be private and at the discretion of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in loving memory of Gary to Lewisburg Home Health, 235 Hospital Drive, Lewisburg, PA 17837.
