Gary E. "Tilley" Bickhart, 78, of Starlight Drive, Middleburg, passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2017, at his home.
He was born May 11, 1939, in Sunbury, a son of the late Clarion Merle and Faye Ella (Bolig) Bickhart. After his mother had died, he was raised by his grandparents, the late James and Stella Bolig. On July 4, 1976, he married the former Victoria C. Keister who survives.
Gary was a 1957 graduate of Middleburg High School. He was very proud of his service in the Air Force from 1957 to 1960.
He retired in 1995 from PPL where he was a construction foreman.
He was a member of Heiser-Hoffman V.F.W. Post 5640, Middleburg, the NRA, and a supporter of the Air Force Memorial.
Gary enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three stepdaughters and sons-in-law, Yvette and Paul Treas, of Selinsgrove, Brenda and Rob White, of Lewisburg, and Melissa and Clark Spear, of Mifflinburg; one stepson and daughter-in-law, David and Dee Swope, of Watsontown; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Shirley and Larry Loss, of Beavertown, and Nancy and Dave Runkle, of Mechanicsburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Private graveside services will be conducted in Glendale Cemetery, Middleburg, with military honors by the Middlewest Veterans Honor Guard.
Arrangements are by the Hummel Funeral Home, 574 Hill St., Middleburg.
