Fred A. Neiswender, 87, of Sunbury, passed away on Wednesday, July 19, 2017, at the Golden Living Center-Mansion, Sunbury.
He was born Nov. 21, 1929, in Shamokin, a son of the late Emerson and Florence (Lauer) Neiswender.
Fred had been employed by the Arrow Shirt factory and Jones Hardware in Shamokin, and was last employed by Fould's Pumps in Ashland.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Sunbury.
Fred is survived by two children, one son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Deborah, of Baltimore, Md.; one daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Jeffrey Updegrove, of Selinsgrove; seven grandchildren, Brandon, Blair, Brian, Valerie, Bronson, Joshua, and Matthew; and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Samuel; and two sisters, Thelma Mae Derk and Eleanor Barrett.
A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church, Fourth and Chestnut streets, Sunbury, followed by the funeral at 11.
Interment will be in the Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington.
In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to make donations to his church.
Arrangements are by the Jerre Wirt Blank Funeral Home, 395 State St., Sunbury.
