Franklin A. Benfer, 63, of Kepner Road, Beaver Springs, passed away on Monday, Feb. 26, 2018, at his home surrounded by his family after a three-year battle with cancer.
He was born June 5, 1954, in Beavertown, a son of Emma Grace (Sheesley) Benfer of Lewisburg, and the late Park R. Benfer.
Frank attended Beaver Adams, West Beaver Elementary and West Snyder schools.
He was employed as a truck driver for 38 years and also at Wood Mode for more than six years.
In his spare time he enjoyed hunting and fishing, camping, working on lawn mowers, outside camper get togethers, driving truck and most of all spending time with his family.
Surviving in addition to his mother are two brothers and sisters-in-law, Raymond and Penny Benfer of Beavertown, and Ronald and Darlene Benfer of Beaver Springs; one sister, Gladie Shaffer of Northumberland; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Jason and Shannon Benfer of Beavertown, Harold and Crystal Benfer of Yeagertown, and Logan Bogush of Winfield; one stepdaughter, Carolyn Wright of McClure; two stepsons, Nathan Beachel of Beaver Springs and Christopher Beachel and wife Mariah of Middleburg; grandchildren, Dakota, Katrina, Hunter, Chase and Drew; 10 step grandchildren, MaKayla, Ashton, Chloe, Braydyn, Gracelynn, Alexis, Brycen, Aaliyah, Madison and Zoey.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Anna Marie.
Friends and family will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Wayside Bible Church, Middleburg, followed by a memorial service at 8, with the Rev. Timothy A. Reich officiating.
Arrangements are by the Pheasant Funeral Home, 316 W. Market St., Beavertown.
