Floris R. Knouse, 84, passed into eternal peace June 29, 2017, at Ohesson Manor, Lewistown.
She was born Sept. 28, 1932, a daughter of the late Richard E. and Madeline (Beaver) Lepley near Beaver Springs.
On Dec. 31, 1952, she married Carl Knouse who preceded her in death.
Floris was a 1950 graduate of Beaver Vocational High School and the York School of Beauty in 1956.
She worked most of her life as a housewife and loving mother to the couples three sons.
Floris was a faithful member of United Lutheran Church and had served on the church council, the fall festival team, and quilt group among other roles. She served many years on the local elections board.
Attending the sports and other activities of her grandchildren were some of her greatest joys. Floris also enjoyed traveling and fishing with husband Carl and others. She had visited all 50 states. She was an avid fan of baseball and loved watching the birds at her various feeders.
Floris is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Carter and Julie Knouse, and Curtis and Wendy Knouse; one sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Lloyd Rheam; six brothers and sisters-in-law, Erman and Evelyn Lepley, Richard and Marsha Lepley, Dean and Louise Lepley, Fred and Crystal Lepley, Ralph Heintzelman, and Gary and Pat Heintzelman; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband Carl, she was preceded in death by one son, Carl David; an infant sister, Sarah Catherine Lepley; brother, William Leply; and sister, Sarah Stoicheff.
A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the United Lutheran Church at Wolfe's Crossroads, where the funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday.
Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Floris' memory may be made to United Lutheran Church, Sunbury.
