Faith Kerstetter Walter, 74, of Paxtonville Road, Middleburg, passed away at her home and went to walk in the heavenly flower garden on Monday, Dec. 4, 2017.
She was born Sept. 10, 1943, in Lewistown, a daughter of the late James and Grace (Troup) Kerstetter. Faith was raised on the family fruit farm "on the hill" in Paxtonville. On April 13, 1963, she married Airman Larry L. Walter who was stationed at Westover Air Base, Massachusetts.
Faith was a 1961 graduate of Middleburg High School.
After graduation, Faith worked in Harrisburg at the office of the Auditor General. Later she worked as an aide at the Middleburg Elementary School, a receptionist at Dr. Gift's office in Middleburg, the director of the Snyder County Housing Authority, and last at Engle's Greenhouse as a sales person.
Faith was a life long member of the Paxtonville United Methodist Church.
She enjoyed camping, and her many flowers, but spending time with family was the main focus of her life.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Irene Walter, of Middleburg; two grandchildren, Abigail and Orry Walter; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Dawn Heintzelman and Alice and John Steininger; two brothers and one sister-in-law, William Kerstetter and James and Linda Kerstetter; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one brother-in-law, Larry heintzelman; and one sister-in-law, Ethel Jean Kerstetter.
A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Hummel Funeral Home, 574 Hill St., Middleburg. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Paxtonville United Methodist Church, with her nephew, the Rev. Greg Rapp, and the Rev. Brian Lucas, officiating.
Burial will be in Paxtonville Cemetery.
