Evelyn C. Johnson, 97, of Sunbury, passed away on Friday, Sept. 22, 2017, at Nottingham Village.
She was born Aug. 28, 1920, in Elysburg, a daughter of the late Clair and Bertha (Tietsworth) Long. She married the late Charles Johnson.
Evelyn earned her cosmetology license and worked as a hairdresser and instructor of cosmetology.
She loved tending to her flowers, collecting cookbooks and recipes, and crocheting.
She is survived by two sons, Robert Johnson and wife Laurie, of Sunbury, and Donald Johnson and wife Maryon, of Florida; three grandchildren, Scott, Erin, and Melanie; stepgranddaughter, Terra; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brother, Lowell Long; and sister, Marcella Specht.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Millard and Nevin Long.
A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Brady Funeral Home, 320 Church St., Danville, followed by the funeral at 11, with the Rev. Robert T. Reich officiating.
Burial will follow in Episcopal Cemetery, Danville.
