Eva H. Kissinger, 92, of Middleburg, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, Jan. 19, 2018, at The Manor at Penn Village, Selinsgrove.
She was born Jan. 24, 1925 in Herndon, she was the daughter of the late Frank R. and Mabel (Schlegel) Feger. She was married to George E. Kissinger who preceded her on April 6, 1993.
Eva was a 1942 graduate of Kutztown High School. She served in the Navy during World War II, and was honorably discharged with the rank of Seaman First Class in June of 1946.
She retired in 1972 from the Freeburg Shirt factory as a shirt packager.
She was a member of St. Peters Reformed Church, Freeburg, and attended Niemond's Church, Richfield. She held memberships in the Freeburg Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary and the Freeburg Senior Citizens.
Eva placed God and family first in her life. Her hobbies included reading, listening to classical music, and doing private home sewing.
Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, Larry, and Judy of Richfield, Randall and Beverly, of Middleburg, and Ardie and Anna, of Bloomsburg; six grandchildren, Ryan and Lindsey Kissinger, Raena Rood, and her husband, Scott, Heath and Dana Kissinger, Rebecca Williams and her husband, Shawn, Wendy Gump and her husband, Lee, and Ardie and Amanda Kissinger; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Eva was the last of her immediate family and was preceded by three brothers, and three sisters.
Family and friends will be received for the viewing from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at the George P. Garman Funeral Homes Inc., 9366 Route 35, Mount Pleasant Mills, followed by the funeral at 2, with Pastor Joseph Mott of Foundations Bible Church of Freeburg, officiating.
Burial with full military honors accorded by the Selinsgrove American Legion Victory Post 25, and the Selinsgrove Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6631 will be made in Fairview Cemetery, Freeburg.
If friends desire, memorial gifts may be made in loving memory of Eva to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
