Text size

Eva Kathryn Conrad, 96, a lifetime resident of Selinsgrove, passed away Monday, Feb. 19, 2018, at The Manor at Penn Village, Selinsgrove.

She was born on May 2, 1921, the youngest child of the late Herbert and Hattie Walters.

Eva was married to the late Raymond H. Conrad.

Eva loved music, having played guitar with her husband in their early years of marriage. She shared that enjoyment of music with her family. She also liked following Phillies baseball and Penn State football, as well as all of her family's sports events and musical activities. In her later years, Eva spent many hours reading large print books borrowed from the Selinsgrove Library.

Most of all, Eva was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who was kind to everyone she met. Her love, devotion, and interest in her family was an inspiration to all. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Raymond and Dorraine Conrad; her daughter and son-in-law, Kathryn and James Granger; her grandchildren, Joel (Christine) Kunkel, Jana Rohrbach, David Granger, Debb (Bill) Murray, Yvonne (Mark) Krebs, and Yvette (Jeremy) Hummel; her 17 great-grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Eva was preceded in death by her daughter, Carol Erdman, and her grandson, Dana A. Granger. Eva was the last of her siblings, having been predeceased by her twin brother, Evan, in infancy; her sisters, Grace Wagner and Pauline Warg; and her brothers, James, Chet, and Paul Walters.

The family would like to thank all who cared for Eva, including the neighbors and staff at the South High Street Apartments; Dr. Charles C. Pagana; and the staff at Penn Manor.

At Eva's request services will be private for immediate family. Burial will also be private, at Evergreen Cemetery, Selinsgrove. The family will provide flowers.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Selinsgrove Library.
