Eunice's Story

Eunice Mae Allen Dragon, best known by "Kitty", 83, of Selinsgrove, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2017, at home surrounded by her family.
She was born Jan. 7, 1934, in Lexington, N.C., a daughter of the late Jolly Joe and Dora (Cope) Allen. On Nov. 28, 1953, in the District of Columbia, she married Maxwell Joseph "Bud" Dragon who survives.

Eunice was known by her family and friends as "Kitty". She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Selinsgrove.
Her favorite past time was reading. She loved a good book and could be found reading every night before bed. Kitty loved to bake for family during the holidays, it was not unusual for her to bake 10-plus pies, making sure each one of us had our favorite. She loved each of her children and grandchildren equally and loved to read and sing to them. Her favorite and most memorable songs were "You are My Sunshine and I Love You a Bushel and a Peck".

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sister, Elizabeth (Allen) and John Dillon; brother, Billy Joe and Honora Allen; five daughters and one son and their spouses, Linda S. (Dragon) and Jeffrey L. Wakefield, Cindy L. (Dragon) and Jim Preusser, Barry L. and Linda (Vincent) Dragon, Gail M. (Dragon) and Thompson MacLean, Janice A. (Dragon) and Jerry Hazelwood, and Patti A. (Dragon) Trifilo; two nieces, Elizabeth (Allen) and Michael Calvert and Debbie (Dillon) and Mike Kaufman; two nephews, Joe and Jenn Allen and David and Jackie Dillon; 15 grandchildren, Jessica Wakefield, Crystal Vital-Wakefield, Jeffrey Wakefield II, Aaron Preusser, Jonathan Preusser, Jeremy Preusser, Michelle Dragon, Kayloni MacLean, Skyler MacLean, Jade MacLean, Jerrod Hazelwood, Jason Hazelwood, Sonya (Trifilo) Kneubuhler, Chelsea Trifilo, Sean Trifilo; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Frank E. Trifilo.

A private family memorial will be held at a later date.
