Eugenie Rae McGlaughlin, 71, of W. Railroad St., McClure, passed away late Monday, Sept. 26, 2016, at her home in McClure.
She was born Feb. 17, 1945, in York, a daughter of the late Clarence and Margaret (Downey) Kinneman. On Feb. 5, 1966, she married Tony N. McGlaughlin who survives.
During her life she worked as an English and math teacher in the Mifflinburg and West Snyder high schools before her retirement.
She was a member of Mount Bethel Church, McClure where she served as a past member of the church council and was also a Sunday school teacher.
She was also a member of the M.A.C.C. board, Snyder County Library Board, McClure Veteran's Swimming Pool Board, and was also active as a Fresh Air volunteer, Red Cross volunteer and helped with Community Chest.
In her spare time she was an avid walker and enjoyed playing tennis with her friend Connie, traveling with her husband, and participating in the recreational programs at the M.A.C.C., however, the main love of her life was her granddaughters whom referred to her as "Bono".
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Shawn and Kelly McGlaughlin, Timothy and Ann McGlaughlin, and Ryan and Amy McGlaughlin; her granddaughters, Maura, Sydney, Amelia, Sophie, Ella and Erin; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Michael and Suzanne Kinneman and Steven and Sonny Kinneman.
She was preceded in death by one daughter-in-law, Dr. Cathy Young; and one sister, Barbara Meckley.
Friends and family will be received from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Mount Bethel Church, 16 E. Specht St., McClure, followed by a memorial service at 4, with the Rev. Donald Wise officiating.
