Ethel A. "Bobbie" McEwan, 92, of Lewisburg, passed away Monday afternoon, Oct. 23, 2017, at the Buffalo Valley Personal Care of Lewisburg.
A native of New York City, she was born Jan. 2, 1925, a daughter of the late William and Mary (Ungabene) O'Neill. She was married to Frederick M. McEwan for 58 years until his death in 2004.
Bobbie was a graduate of the James Monroe High School in the Bronx and was a secretary for 40 years at S.U.N.Y., Farmington, N.Y. Previously she had worked for Republic Aviation and a Catholic Seminary.
Bobbie was a member of the Sacred Heart Church.
She enjoyed bingo, gardening, bowling, dancing, organizing parties and family gatherings, and had a strong spiritual life.
Surviving are three children, Frederick M. McEwan Jr., Kenneth P. McEwan, and Denise McEwan-Gerardi; sister-in-law, Dorothy O'Neill; daughters-in-law, Mira McEwan and Katrina Fortuna; and a son-in-law, Jamie Cruz.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Church, Lewisburg, with the Rev. Mark Wilke as celebrant. Burial will follow in Lewisburg Cemetery
Funeral Arrangements are by the Shaw Funeral Home, Lewisburg.
