Esther M. Snyder, 86, of Mount Pocono, entered into eternal rest on Monday, July 24, 2017, at the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Pocono, East Stroudsburg.
She was born April 16, 1931, in Richfield, a daughter of the late Sterle and Ruth (Garman) Shirk. She was married to Wilson Donald Snyder who preceded her.
Esther retired in 1984 as a school teacher from the South Orange-Maplewood School District, South Orange, N.J.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Mount Pocono.
Esther enjoyed teaching music to children later in her life. She was a real people person and loved her family and friends.
She is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey L. and Vivien Snyder, of Shanghai, China, and Steven A. Snyder, of Mount Pocono; one sister, Caroline Hoffman, of Mifflin; four nieces; one nephew; and numerous great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Mildred Moyer; and a niece.
Friends and family are invited to the viewing from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the George P. Garman Funeral Homes Inc., 9366 Route 35, Mount Pleasant Mills, followed by the funeral at 2, with the Rev. Barry Arnold officiating.
Burial will be in Richfield Union Cemetery, Richfield.
