Ernest "Ernie" Welch, 45, of 50 Albatross Drive, Watsontown, passed away Dec. 9, 2017, at the Guthrie Troy Community Hospital, Troy, after a massive heart attack after being afflicted with diabetes and complications for several years.
He was born Dec. 18, 1971, in Williamsport, a son of Christina Robbins Showers, of Watsontown, and the late Ernest Welch Sr.
Ernie attended school at Milton High School.
He was employed by Pinnacle Transportation as their northeast regional manager. He later established and was president of Galaxy Transportation, Selinsgrove.
Ernie enjoyed camping at Spruce Run, fishing, and going to Ocean City. Ernie was an avid fan of the Grateful Dead and Jerry Garcia, his favorite song was "Standing on the Moon".
In addition to his mother, he is survived by two sons, Mike Welch, of Sunbury and Jeremy Welch, of Selinsgrove; one daughter, Kristen Welch, of Sunbury; one brother, John Fogelman, of Muncy; two sisters, Taylor Biddinger, of Muncy and Mary Welch, of Forest Hill; three grandchildren, Noah, Jayson, and Noelle; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded by one nephew, Nathaniel Carroll.
A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Friday at Mifflinburg Church of New Life, 8700 Buffalo Road, Lewisburg, (next to the Forest Hill Store) beginning with Pastor Butch Woolsey, and being handed over to long time friend, Allan Smith.
