Elwood "Ted" Wenrich, 83, formerly of Beavertown and Beaver Springs, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 11, 2018, at Rolling Hills Manor, Millmont.
He was born Feb. 14, 1934, in Middleburg, a son of the late Elwood T. "Ted" and Marguerite I. "Peg" (Mitchell) Wenrich. On July 7, 1951, he married Shirley M. Walter who preceded him in death on Sept. 25, 2003.
Ted attended Middleburg High School. He worked many years as a truck driver, retiring as a driver for the Beavertown Block Company. He previously worked at the Beavertown Silk Mill for many years and the Shade Mountain Golf Course as a mower after retirement.
Before entering Rolling Hills Manor, he always looked forward to his daily "round table" discussions over coffee with his friends at Vince's Family Restaurant in Beaver Springs.
Ted is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Tedd Wenrick, of Selinsgrove, and Willard "Bill" and Wendy Wenrich, of Beavertown; three daughters, Rebecca Wenrich and her companion Richard Haines, of Middleburg, Jane Ali and her husband AJ, of Santa Monica, Calif., and Tina Wenrich and her companion Shane Rupert, of Lewistown; 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, Barry and Kathy Wenrich, of Jonestown; six sisters and five brothers-in-law, Phyllis and Ernie Garman, of Kreamer, Sandra and Leonard Kuhns, of Mount Pleasant Mills, Donna and Lee Bolger, of Tolland, Conn., Louise and Mike Pretz, of Middleburg, Carol and Byron Hassinger, of Mifflinburg, and Dolores Yerger, of Middleburg.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Ronald Wenrich; and two sisters, Linda Sheaffer and Peggy Snook.
Friends and family will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16, at the Hummel Funeral Home, 574 Hill St., Middleburg, followed by the funeral with the Rev. Alan Foor officiating.
Burial will be in the Adamsburg Cemetery, Beaver Springs.
