Elma M. Reitz


Elma M. Reitz, 77, of Irish Valley, went home to be with the Lord and Savior on Tuesday, June 18, 2019, at her residence.
She was born Sept. 30, 1941, in Irish Valley, a daughter of the late Melvin L. and Anna M. (Rhoads) Reitz. On March 28, 1964, in Augustaville, she married Warren G. Reitz who survives.

Elma was a life long resident of Irish Valley and a 1959 graduate of Shamokin High School.
She was a homemaker and attended the Augustaville Wesleyan Church, Paxinos.
Elma was a devoted Christian and enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren.

In addition to her husband of 55 years, she is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Dean and Berda Reitz of Irish Valley; one daughter and son-in-law, Wendy and Dan Dombroskie of Kratzerville; three grandchildren, Elise Grybos, Michael Grybos, and Jonathan Grybos and fiancé Brittany; one great-granddaughter, Ava Grybos; one brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Joann Reitz of Irish Valley; one sister, Chere Montanya of New York; and nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, followed by the funeral at 11, at the Augustaville Wesleyan Church, Route 890, Paxinos, with Pastor Greg Clendaniel and Wayne Muckel officiating.
Burial will follow in Summit Cemetery, Irish Valley.

Arrangements are by the Robert G. Foust Jr. Funeral Home, 841 W. Shamokin St., Trevorton.

Elma was one of the most pleasant and entertaining people I have ever met. She was hospitable--"are you hungry, are you thirsty, I have this that and the other thing". As soon as you walked in her door, this is what you were greated with. She was a great sport and loved to play games and just be with people. Heaven has gained a truly wonderful person. You will be missed so much Elma. You were the most authentic Christian I have ever known. Love you Elma!!!!"

I meant her through her grandson Michael who is best friends with my son Travis..when Travis would tell me mom..Michel and his gram asked me to stay over I never had a worry..one of the sweetest and kindest ladies I ever had the pleasure of meeting..
